What is a home warranty?
A home warranty from American Home Guardian protects homeowners from the inevitable costly repairs of household appliances, heating, cooling, and electrical systems. An AHG home warranty provides homeowners peace of mind knowing their greatest investment is protected.

Home warranties cover the cost of parts and labor to repair your home appliances and utility systems. As home repair costs continue to rise, a home warranty from AHG provides protection from these unexpected home repair bills. AHG has Warranties to fit every homeowner's needs.

How does an AHG Warranty work?

There is a 30-Day waiting period for service calls or claims from the start date of the contract, unless the home has had a recent inspection by a certified home inspector. If you a have problem with a covered item, call our toll free customer support line (1-866-710-3700), which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. How do I know I will be taken care of?

Our courteous customer service representatives are available around the clock, including weekends and holidays, to assist you in purchasing a policy or dispatching repair service.

Are there any hidden costs?

No, all you pay is an annual premium to start your coverage and a $40 service fee for each dispatched service call. See contract for additional details.

Aren't I already covered by my homeowner's insurance?

Homeowner's insurance usually does not provide coverage for utility system or appliance breakdowns due to normal wear and tear. A home warranty plan is an excellent complement to your homeowner's insurance, ensuring all of your major systems and appliances are covered.

What are the different types of policies offered?

AHG offers a wide variety of policies, each available in 1 year, 2 year, or 3 year plans. Please refer to our Policies Matrix to find the coverage that best fits your needs and budget.

How do AHG's prices compare?

Our policy premiums and service fees are very competitive with other warranty companies. AHG's competitive advantage lies in the fact that we are totally committed to providing superior customer service and satisfaction. In addition, AHG offers more comprehensive coverage than many other companies, resulting in a better value for your money. Our goal is to provide the most items covered per warranty policy and back all policies with the best customer and repair service available.

What does each Warranty cover?

There are four different home warranty plans that allow you to select which items you want to have covered. You can also customize your program by adding other specific items for an additional fee. See the contract matrix or your contract terms and conditions for a detailed description of what is included in each policy.

What doesn't the Warranty cover?

AHG covers all parts and labor that affect the normal operation of the covered item. AHG's policies do not cover any consequential losses, repairs resulting from abuse or misuse, or acts of nature. Please refer to your contract terms and conditions for more information.

Who can buy an AHG Warranty?

Our Warranties are available to owners and landlords of single family homes, town homes, condominiums and mobile homes under 4,000 square feet. There is no limit to the age of eligible homes. Apartments are not eligible for our warranty plans.

How do I know repairs will be done right?

AHG has assembled a network of the most reputable service providers in your area for all your repair needs. All of AHG's service and repair technicians are pre-screened and guaranteed to be qualified for the job. AHG also guarantees new parts and components will be installed on all repair service calls. In addition, all repairs have a no additional cost, 100% satisfaction guarantee for 60 days after the repair has taken place.

Is coverage through AHG available everywhere?

AHG Warranties are currently available only in Arizona, although we have aggressive plans to expand to other states within the next few years.

What happens when a covered system or appliance breaks down?

Just call our local service number at 480-649-8199 (or toll free at 1-866-710-3700) and we will dispatch your service call to one of our authorized service technicians.

Is AHG's web site secure?

Yes, AHG uses the highest industry standard form of personal information security and encryption for all of our credit card transactions. AHG will never sell or share customer information.

What happens if AHG goes out of business?
In the unlikely event that AHG were to go out of business, a prorated cash refund would be issued minus a processing fee as described in the contract terms and conditions.

What service fees are involved and how are they applied?

Each dispatched service call requires a $40 service fee be paid to the service provider. The service fee is applied to the service provider's drive time, arrival fees, and diagnostics of the problem.

Is there an inspection required?

All contracts granted assume a 30-day no claim requirement from origin of contract, unless the home has had an inspection by a professional state certified home inspector within 30-days prior to the close of escrow. In the event service is required in the first 30 days, a complete copy of the inspection report must be submitted to American Home Guardian. If a home inspection report is produced, but the item has failed due to rust, sediment or corrosion in the first 30 days, the item will be excluded from the warranty contract until repaired or replaced by the homeowner.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Master Card, personal checks, money orders and escrow checks from real estate transactions.

How does the replacement program work?

If a covered item cannot be repaired in a cost-effective or timely manner, AHG will replace the item with an equally valued item or a cash disbursement for the fair market value. See contract terms and conditions for more details.

What do I pay when my product gets replaced?

You pay the normal $40 service fee. That's it.

Does AHG offer warranty coverage for pools and spas?

Yes, pool and spa policies can be purchased as an additional coverage option when you purchase any of our home warranty policies. We highly recommend these policies to all homeowners that have a pool or a spa because of the high level of upkeep and maintenance associated with ownership.

Some of my systems and appliances are over 10 years old. Will they be covered?

No matter how old they are, your utility systems and appliances are eligible for coverage as long as they are in working order when your policy begins.

How can I renew my home warranty policy?

Your coverage is renewable at your option. Near the end of your coverage period, you will receive a renewal notice to make the process easy for you. AHG offers the choice of 1 Year, 2 Year, or 3 Year plans. The 2 Year plan includes one month of free coverage, and the 3 Year plan includes two months of free coverage.

What happens if I sell my home during the warranty period?

Your policy can easily be transferred to the new homeowner. This can be a significant bonus for a potential buyer, and is a powerful tool to help you sell your home faster and for more money. See the terms and conditions of the contract for more information.

How do the Seller's and Buyer's Coverage Programs work?

A home warranty policy helps a home sell more quickly and for top dollar. When a home seller purchases an AHG Premium or Guardian home warranty plan, the seller gets free coverage during the listing period. When the sale closes, the policy is transferred to the new owner (buyer). This provides tremendous peace of mind for the buyer, because they know all their major utility systems and appliances are covered. Some limitations apply. See contract terms and conditions for details.
